I think the last time I actually enjoyed doing something non-programming was almost 15 years ago. Today, I dabbled in mail server setup, nginx configuration, setting up SSL certificates, writing shell scripts to deploy updates to my website via command line… It’s like I rediscovered the joy of being a newbie tech guy. Well, it’s not all fun and games when I had to troubleshoot some server configuration problems, but it was refreshing to sort of bang my head against the wall on something non-programming related.

I hope to get my first pet project up and running in the next few days. This upcoming week is Golden Week in Japan, so I have 3 days off. I’ll have plenty of time to work on this!
